That's my take.Overview Familiar landmarks from the series Anyway, that was great, probably the only good thing I have found about it. And it's as good as the Simpsons movie! Lots of Easter eggs of other games: Grand Theft Scratchy, a pokemon parody where Homer summons a flying pig that can turn into meat and bacon, recognizable character such as Sonic and Mario… The whole thing devolve into a meta adventure where they go into the game engine and must beat the creator of the game. You can watch the whole thing on YouTube, it's just like another 1h Simpsons movie. The storyline has been written by the same team that writes the Simpsons show. The only redeeming quality of this game are the cutscenes. I played about 5h before quitting out of boredom. Simple puzzles and boring platforming, Jump on tricky platforms, punch baddies, reach the end of the level. Bad camera control, you always have to nudge the cam to make it point forward, annoying as hell. But everything look heavily polygonized and pixelated. The bad: Crappy N64 era graphics, I think the problem is the shader which is meant to put hard black lines on objects. When I brought this game from Amazon, I knew it had a score of ~70% across the board on Metacritic, Gamefaqs, IGN… But I really wanted to try a Simpsons game, I somewhat liked Crazy Taxi (Simpsons version of GTA).Īnyway, I was hit right in the face by that 70% like a one-two punch on my first hour of playthrough.
